ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspect engines, transmissions, and related systems and run diagnostics tests to identify issues
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them promptly
- Ensure all critical parts are inspected, tested, and operating properly
- Perform repairs with a focus on maximum equipment reliability
- Complete routine and preventative maintenance on vehicles, machinery, equipment
- Apply lubricants, replenish fluids, and replace components as needed
- Build and assemble engines or mechanical components according to specifications
- Repair heavy equipment, cranes, and related components, including but not limited to:
Hydraulic excavators, rubber‑tire loaders, 580 to large excavators, large trucks (dump trucks, low‑boy tractor/trailers), small trucks (pickups and vans) - Travel to jobsites as needed for repairs or troubleshooting
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Understand pumps, hydraulic rams, metal tracks, and undercarriages of tracked machines
- Follow proper safety procedures when working on or around equipment
- Provide guidance on preventative maintenance best practices
- Ability to identify materials, tools, and equipment
- Proficient with tape measures, basic hand tools, and power tools
- Able to follow directions, understand assigned tasks, and complete work independently with minimal rework
- Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing jobsite needs
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Hold oneself accountable for actions, outcomes, and performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma and/or GED, required
- Completed Apprenticeship or post-secondary education in Diesel and/or Automobile Mechanics
- 5+ Years of job training as a Mechanic or relevant course work
- Current Driver’s License, required
- Current Class A Commercial Driver’s License, preferred
Sitting and standing, walking, stooping, crouching, and kneeling; frequent reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing. A combination of sedentary and active/physical work; lifting up to 50 pounds.
