Journeyman Electrician Job Description
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in private homes and residential buildings. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards.
Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers in residential properties.
- Diagnose electrical problems and provide effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on residential electrical systems.
- Collaborate with homeowners, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time.
- Provide clear communication and excellent customer service.
- Valid electrician’s Journeyman license or certification or 5+ years experience as an Electrician.
- Proven experience as a residential electrician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Working in a small, family‑owned business offers a close‑knit work environment where the owner works alongside the electricians. There are growth opportunities with continued education, and you have the ability to work independently or as part of a small crew.
Work EnvironmentWork primarily indoors in residential homes. The dress code is clean and professional work gear. Typical work hours are from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with no after‑hours service calls required. The job requires travel up to 1 hour from Madison, WI.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $72,800.00 – $ per year.
