Steamfitter – Dane County Regional Airport
Full Time (1.0 FTE)
ScheduleRotating 1:30 pm to 12:00 am, including weekends and holidays.
Undesirable Hours Premium Pay$3.00 for any time worked between 6:00 pm and 6:00 am and for any time on Saturday and/or Sunday.

Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, and repair major building heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on a variety of building maintenance systems.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.
- Select pipe type and size according to specifications.
- Inspect work site, determine obstructions, and avoid structural weakness.
- Cut, thread, bend pipe and assemble a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes and fittings.
- Connect pipes using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints.
- Secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools.
- Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Operate, maintain, and program building automation systems.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Completed an apprenticeship program approved by the Department of Workforce Development as a steamfitter or formal recognition of journeyman status by the appropriate trade union.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in large commercial building maintenance.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Pass Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Dane County Sheriff’s Office background investigation and fingerprinting.
- Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and respond to after‑hours building emergencies.
