As our next Chief Information Officer
, you’ll lead strategies in AI, cybersecurity and data analytics to shape an agile, customer‑centric energy ecosystem. If you thrive on innovation and want to influence the future at scale, this is your moment.
- Perform all leadership duties, including hiring, rewarding talent, fostering an inclusive and safe workplace, partnering with employees to set clear goals and expectations, providing timely and specific feedback on performance, developing improvement plans, addressing conflict with care and respect, identifying opportunities for growth, embracing lifelong learning, ensuring employees work fit for duty, adhering to our Code of Conduct, and modeling Alliant Energy’s Core Values.
- Serve as a Corporate Officer, appointed by Alliant Energy’s Board of Directors; act as the agent of the corporation with fiduciary duties of loyalty and care.
- Develop strong relationships and partner with business unit leaders to align on a multi‑year technology strategy that identifies and maximizes opportunities to use technology, automation, mobility, analytics and information to support business goals.
- Drive strong program delivery of major technology programs and projects, overseeing design, implementation and integration of new applications and changes to existing systems and software.
- Be responsible for cybersecurity and physical security, developing cybersecurity strategies and providing regular updates to the Board.
- Direct and lead the Alliant Energy AI and data analytics strategy and adoption.
- Drive operational excellence within IT through effective organizational design, transformational leadership, and performance of employees, vendors and contractors.
- Guide tactical IT activities, including implementing and maintaining ERP, human capital, customer experience, workforce and asset management, supervisory control, and data acquisition (SCADA) systems; integrating renewables and grid‑related technology; overseeing enterprise architecture, network infrastructure, telecommunications, data management, business analytics and ensuring security and regulatory compliance.
- Champion IT talent development, ensuring leadership and professional talent are in place and succession bench strength is achieved; partner with HR to attract and retain top IT talent.
- Develop IT capital and operating budgets and long‑term strategic plans, collaborating with jurisdictions and functions to create plans that align with regulatory frameworks.
- Serve as a member of the Executive Privacy Governance Committee and participate on other company committees as requested.
- Engage in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in information technology or related area.
- Master's Degree – Preferred.
- 10 years technical and/or professional experience in information technology, including implementing large application projects and demonstrating knowledge of application platforms, infrastructure and contemporary technology solutions.
- 10 years progressively more responsible management experience with demonstrated ability to manage resources to meet goals across multiple projects and geographic locations.
- Experience advising and providing counsel to executive management.
- Experience in the utility industry and/or another regulated industry is preferred but not required.
