Job Description
We are seeking a skilled LC-MS Operator to join our dynamic team. This role is focused on managing and operating LC-MS instrumentation, providing training to new chemists, and helping with system scheduling for over 50 Mass Spectrometry units. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and conducting routine maintenance, independently running LC-MS instrumentation, and maintaining detailed lab records.
Responsibilities- Start batches on LC-MS with a focus on instrumentation.
- Provide training assistance to new chemists on LC-MS operations.
- Assist in scheduling for over 50 Mass Spectrometry systems.
- Allow chemists to shadow while running instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and perform routine maintenance.
- Independently operate LC-MS instrumentation.
- Maintain accurate lab records and documentation.
- Coordinate with 60 chemists and communicate corrective actions with Study Directors.
- Identify and resolve technical issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related Life Science field.
- 2-3 years of HPLC operation experience.
- Experience in troubleshooting HPLC instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge in chemistry, metrology, training development, calibration, and laboratory work.
- Competency in mass spectrometry and LC-MS operations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in mass spectrometry or LC-MS is a plus, with training available.
- Ability to manage and work collaboratively with a large team.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Strong time‑management skills.
This position is based in a lab setting within the Bioanalytical team, which comprises approximately 100 employees, including 60 chemists. The role requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to work in a fast‑paced lab environment.

Contract to Hire, Madison, WI.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
