The Parts Outside Salesperson is responsible for driving sales of International parts and services by proactively engaging with customers who operate rolling fleets and related equipment within an assigned territory. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions that align with each customer’s operational needs.
A strong emphasis is placed on customer satisfaction, professional service, and maintaining a positive brand image. The Parts Outside Salesperson is expected to consistently meet sales and profitability targets while representing the company with integrity and a deep understanding of the parts and services offered.
Responsibilities- Achieve sales objectives to assigned accounts
- Establish and develop relationships through personal interaction with customers
- Identify target accounts and action plans to increase sales
- Complete and update Account Profiles on assigned accounts
- Contact new credit account customers within 15 days
- Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints
- Address pricing, product, or customer service issues directly with customers
- Attend and actively participate in monthly Sales meetings to review performance, opportunities, challenges, programs, etc.
- Complete Sales Representative Training including sales skills, product knowledge, computer systems, and International mandatory and voluntary training.
- Coordinate and promote “Customer Training Nights” and vendor “ride-alongs”
- Develop, manage, and monitor customer incentive programs
- Promote, install, and administer Repair Link systems with customers
- Collect market feedback to monitor competitiveness and address concerns
- Request special pricing assistance (SPA’s) from International when necessary
- Manage parts customer contact database (CRM)
- Develop key vendor relationships and maximize utilization of supplier programs and resources
- Complete special projects as assigned by General Manager, Director, Parts, and/or President
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records for all consignments
- Handle all aspects of customer service for the assigned customer base
- Build and maintain effective relationships with International personnel
- Proactively monitor inventory, suggesting additions and/or modifications to support assigned accounts
- A high school diploma minimum
- A minimum of (3) years medium and heavy-duty truck parts/service experience
- A college graduate or equivalent experience in Medium/Heavy Duty truck industry is preferred
- Appreciation of the need for teamwork and sincere desire to contribute as a part of the team
- Excellent communication skills, including an awareness of others and an effective listening ability
- Customer appreciation, a desire to satisfy customers and the ability to instill customer confidence
- An ability to build the team with helpfulness and interaction in an outgoing, approachable manner

- Demonstrated ability in convincing others to gain support and influence
- The ability to alter standard procedures and adjust accordingly despite changing circumstances
- Candidate is highly motivated and willing to take initiative to achieve results beyond what is required.
