Territory Development Manager - Unilever Food Solutions

Location: Remote – Madison, WI

Pay

$69,360 to $104,040.

Bonus & LTI

Position is bonus eligible and LTI eligible.

Purpose of the Role

As a Territory Development Manager you will drive sustainable business growth via Operators, Chains and Trade Partners engagement. You will be part of a digital ecosystem using data and CRM tools to plan and execute sales calls and grow market share in your territory.

Demand Creation

Engage with local chain accounts and operator customers to deliver business targets for the assigned territory: turnover, reach & penetration, digital engagement, demos, sampling, etc. Implement key account management and a multi‑touchpoint contact strategy.

Key Activities
  • Use data to convert business insights into activation solution selling.
  • Utilize market trends to create concept solution selling.
  • Gain insight and lead customers to the right solution.
  • Network to key customer stakeholders.
  • Prepare visits with solution recommendations and manage workflow in CRM Salesforce.
  • Conduct F2F and virtual sampling, ideation, cooking demos.
  • Follow up on previous calls to ensure opportunities progress to close.
  • Secure and coordinate customer orders each month.
  • Meet with distributors/trade partners to expand assortment.
  • Build and nurture relationships with local distributor sales reps.
  • Implement contact matrix for key trade customers.
  • Engage trade customers for secondary sales data.
  • Implement promotions related to key seasons and events.
  • Ensure timely submission and settlement of claims.
Critical Skills Required for the Role
  • Hunter mindset with a strong ambition; 70% hunting, 30% farming.
  • Fast adopter of contemporary technology; proficient in MS Office including Power BI and Excel.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive in creating mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Curious and constantly learning about market trends.
  • Ability to sell premium brands with superiority selling stories and culinary solutions.
  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish, Mandarin).
Essential Experiences
  • CPG Food service B2B sales experience.
  • Culinary/chef selling experience.
  • Network of existing food service operator partners.
  • Distributor, ingredient or broker sales experience.
  • Experience with CRM (Salesforce).
  • Operator experience.
  • Market/geographical knowledge.
  • Food university background (CIA, Food & Hospitality).
  • Multi‑national corporate company experience.
