The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will lead the store team members in servicing customers.
Essential Job Functions- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on customer service programs (Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late‑afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.).
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring team members stay current on their individual training.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members.
- Make sure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store‑to‑store transfers, and DC add orders are processed timely and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friend lily; issue refunds accurately with correct payment methods and stage returned merchandise correctly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies: posted work schedule adherence, changes approved by management, proper clock‑in/out.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day‑end procedures, securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring security lights, locking doors, arming/disarming alarms, and securing delivery vehicles.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Required:
- Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification
- Desired:
- Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
