Role Description
This is an on-site, full-time role for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Physics based in Madison, WI, to work in the UWPlasma research group (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Applications from early career scientists, postdocs, and finishing graduate students with expertise and interest in computational fluid dynamics, engineering, fusion energy, programming, and/or optimization are particularly encouraged. The successful applicant is anticipated to take leading roles in the Fus Ion Research Engine (FIRE) collaboratives on campus that focus on accurate prediction of stellarator and magnetic mirror plasma properties.
The group has been developing a suite of differentiable and highly performant codes (see ) for such efforts, and the successful applicant will have an opportunity to define a research program that supports these activities.
