• Carry out management activities in the Arboretum’s restorations and horticultural collections under supervision
• Perform weed control and invasive species management using manual and mechanical methods
• Harvest seeds from native plants and assist in the removal and planting of trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants
• Care for horticultural collection specimens through weeding, planting, mulching, and pruning
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Land Care Manager or Curator

• Must be enrolled as a student for the fall 2026 semester
• Valid driver’s license that meets employer Risk Management standards
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle and/or farm tractor is preferred
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions
• Good oral and written communication skills

• Basic horticultural and plant identification skills
• Experience using landscape maintenance hand and power tools
