Pet Vet Care Centers' Madison Park Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join their team.
Job OverviewAs a Veterinary Technician at Pet Vet, you will support hospital operations by delivering quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients. Your responsibilities include animal examinations, diagnostic procedures, assisting in surgery, nursing care, feeding, equipment maintenance, triage, discharge, record keeping, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct examinations, interviews, review care plans and records, complete laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging.
- Collect samples and administer medications, drugs, and vaccines; take vital signs and bandage wounds.
- Assist with patient examinations and operations, assemble supplies, bring patients to examination rooms, restrain patients, and assist veterinarians as directed.
- Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, and specialized equipment for optimal pet care.
- Obtain and verify medications, ensure patients receive food and water, and keep rooms, cages, and equipment clean.
- Fill prescriptions, log controlled drug usage, and maintain inventory and supplies.
- Maintain patient medical records and update the database accurately and timely.
- Communicate patient status to owners as directed by the veterinarian.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshoot, and call for repairs.
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional literature.
- Release pets to owners ensuring they are clean and groomed; follow written and oral directions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager or practice.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of veterinary appointment, surgery, and nursing care experience for hospitalized and critical patients.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) as required by state.
- Equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and experience will be considered.

$27 — $30 USD per hour
