Job Details – PACU Travel Nursing Assignment- Location: Madison, WI 53718
- Assignment Length: 8 weeks (April 6, 2026 – June 1, 2026)
- Setting: Pre Op / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – 23-room unit
- Shifts: Day shifts, Monday–Friday
- 5 x 8-hour shifts (05:15–13:45)
- 4 x 10-hour shifts (05:15–15:45)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,120–$2,230 per week
- Active Wisconsin RN license or multistate compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience in Pre Op/PACU within the last 3 years
- Experience with Pre-op and Phase II Post-op nursing required (Phase II RN)
- Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred (within last 12 months)
- Basic arrhythmia/telemetry experience; must pass telemetry test prior to start
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility (travel nurse requirement)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Prepare and recover inpatient and outpatient surgical patients in a 23-room Pre Op and PACU area
- Assess, diagnose, intervene, evaluate, coordinate, and facilitate care in the immediate post-anesthetic period
- Provide pain management, support recovery from anesthesia, and deliver discharge teaching for outpatients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy, physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and surgical teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR and follow perioperative nursing protocols
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing and clinical need (flexible travel PACU RN)
- Pass required telemetry examination prior to start (strict criteria apply)
