Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU III/IV experience, Epic proficiency, and an active WI or compact RN license.

Job Details

• 26-bed NICU within a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center that is also a Magnet®-designated facility,

• Level IV NICU caring for critically ill newborns and infants with complex medical and surgical needs, including post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and various modes of invasive and non-invasive ventilation,

• Patient- and family-centered care model from admission through discharge,

• Evening/night shifts, 12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM,

• Required to work 2-3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period,

• Epic EMR used; experience required, preferably within the last 12 months,

• Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs,

Job Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license issued from permanent address state, currently in hand,

• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) only,

• NRP certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of total NICU Level III/IV experience, with at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU (Level III and Level IV experience may be combined to meet the 2-year total),

• Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/non-invasive ventilation modes required,

• Basic arrhythmia/telemetry experience required,

• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site to be eligible for this position,

Additional Information

• Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill newborns and infants with a wide range of medical and surgical complexities,

• Must pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start,

• Facility is home to a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU serving patients throughout Wisconsin and beyond,

• Parking on-site requires a permit through UW Transportation; alternative options include bus, park & ride, and private parking
