Now Hiring:
Development Coordinator (Half-Time)

Opera for the Young (OFTY) seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Coordinator to support our mission of bringing opera to children across the Midwest. This hybrid role combines fundraising and marketing responsibilities to support community engagement and financial stability. The Development Coordinator works closely with the General Director to implement strategic goals and strengthen relationships with donors and the broader arts community.

Some in-office time is required.

POSITION DETAILS
  • Pay Range: $24 per hour
  • Schedule:

    May require some nights, weekends, and occasional travel
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Fundraising and Development
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with donors, including major gifts and corporate sponsors
  • Plan and execute individual giving campaigns and re-engage lapsed donors
  • Manage grant processes, including prospect research, foundation relationships, and preparation of timely applications
  • Manage development income (grants and donations) and enter data into Salesforce and Quick Books
  • Maintain a grant calendar in Salesforce to ensure timely submissions
  • Oversee donor recognition and stewardship efforts
  • Collaborate with Board and staff to support fundraising events
Public Relations
  • Ensure external communications are consistent, mission-centered, and reflective of OFTY’s values
  • Lead social media campaigns, pitch feature stories, and generate media coverage across Wisconsin, northern Illinois, and eastern Minnesota
Board of Directors Support
  • Serve as staff liaison to Development committees and attend all Board meetings as a non-voting member
  • Provide regular fundraising reports to the Board
  • Act as a fundraising advisor to engage Board members in development efforts
Qualifications
  • Excellent writing skills (samples required)
  • Strong computer proficiency or ability to learn systems including Salesforce, MS Office Suite, Quick Books, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
