Position Title:

Assistant Tool Maker

Wage: $22.00 - $27.00/Hour

Shift/

Hours:

6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, 2-2-3 Rotation

We are seeking skilled candidates for an Assistant Tool Maker at our client company in Madison, WI. We are looking for night shift for this temp to hire opportunity with a great team paying $22-27/hr. based on experience.

Assistant Tool Maker Responsibilities
  • Assist with the fabrication, modification, maintenance, and repair of tools and mechanical components by using CNC mills, mills, lathes, drills, grinders and other shop equipment
  • Perform bench work such as sanding and tool assembly
  • Assist in tool inspections to ensure proper tool rebuilds/repairs and reduce development costs of new tools
  • Participate as a team member to improve work practices and methods
  • Understand and comply with all work instructions related to job responsibilities
  • Assists in Tool Vault and Sample Lab as required
  • Works in any department of the Company as required
  • Assist all departments by providing machine shop support
  • Trouble shoot production problems and provide solutions
  • Perform work to the tooling schedule and adjust as required to meet Internal and external customer deadlines
Requirements For Assistant Tool Maker
  • Certificate in Machine Tool Operations or related field and 1 year experience in manufacturing environment - OR - Equivalent machine tool experience in tool fabrication, maintenance, or machine shop
  • Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements
  • Working knowledge on the safe and effective use of the following machine shop equipment: CAD/CAM, CNC mills, EDM's, milling machines, manual lathes, and drill presses
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Must be able to apply shop math to build tools
  • Desired Skills Ability to interact well with others
  • Self-starter with the ability to try new methods to improve productivity
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
