This role is based in Madison, WI and focuses on safe and efficient manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). The position is lab-based and emphasizes executing production operations to support end users and patients, including updating documents and maintaining a safe, high-quality manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Execute existing production procedures and update supporting documents.
- Maintain safety and quality of the manufacturing environment in compliance with regulatory guidelines (FDA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, DOT, etc.).
- Function as a Primary Operator for a single group of GMP Production areas (e.g., Kilo Labs). Draft preliminary reports detailing deviations from written procedures and potential contributing factors.
- Utilize and provide minor updates to a variety of written procedures, including operating procedures with supervisor or SME assistance.
- Identify and immediately correct equipment, process, and safety issues in the lab. Mentor new employees through supplemental technical and on-the-job training. Participate in a team-based, multi-shift environment with strong inter-shift communication and in-lab housekeeping.
- Take independent ownership over a departmental support responsibility.
- Engage in personal and professional career development through active participation in development objectives.
- Provide departmental support through additional tasks as directed by department leadership.
- Working with highly potent / hazardous materials.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Using proper personal protective equipment, which may include respiratory protection and full-body protection such as disposable coveralls or lab coats.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other Life Science discipline.
- Ability to read and understand written protocols.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Electronic Document Management Systems, etc.).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude; ability to operate hand tools, calculators, and weighing/measuring devices.
- Strong mathematical skills and a high degree of internal motivation.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining close attention to detail.
Pay Range for this position: $27.00-$53.00 per hour
. The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of base pay. The actual compensation offered will be determined by location, experience, education, skills, and other factors.
