The State of Wisconsin DCF is looking for One (1) Certified Project Manager III.

Project Details

The project manager will work with other project managers in DCF and possibly with other State of WI Departments such as the Department of Administration (DOA) and the Department of Health Services (DHS). The person in this role will lead the business intelligence and software/application development team members to complete projects and work closely with our business partners to ensure its success.

The DCF Child Care/Child Welfare section is looking for a results oriented and adaptable individual with a “can do attitude” to lead business intelligence projects, legacy, and modernized software/application development projects for our business partners. This project manager will lead multiple projects from small to multi-million-dollar development efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for technical and overall project management on enterprise-wide business intelligence, software/application development, and infrastructure/architecture projects.
  • Work closely with the project sponsor and IT senior management to understand and prioritize project tasks, solve complex technical problems, understand business objectives and problems, identify alternative solutions, perform feasibility studies, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Build an effective team and direct the work of the project team to meet project milestones; develop standards, policies, and procedures for documentation, tools, and systems.
  • Develop and maintain project charters, plans, deliverables, and other artifacts.
  • Research new technology and develop business cases to support enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions; participate in special projects as required.
  • Have 12+ years of project management experience with large and complex database management systems, business intelligence tools and systems.
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in project management and technical domains (including business intelligence, data warehousing, and application development).
  • PMP (or equivalent industry standard) certification.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in change management (5+ years).
  • Experience with system development life cycle (12+ years).
  • Technical writing and documentation skills (10+ years).
  • Analytical/problem solving skills (10+ years).
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Outlook, MS Office, and MS Project (MS Project – Nice to Have 3+ years).
  • Experience with Informatica, data warehouse design, Kimball methods, and enterprise BI tools (5+ years).
  • Knowledge of State of Wisconsin privacy regulations (Nice to Have).
  • Ability to work with customers to solve problems and support their needs.
