Facilities Planning Manager! Wisconsin Public Media (
PBS Wisconsin + Wisconsin Public Radio
), a division of UW-Madison
, is looking for a strategic, solutions‑driven pro to help shape the spaces and operations that power public media across our state. If you love blending technical know‑how, project leadership, and collaboration to make meaningful impact, this role is for you. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position.
Compensation:
Typical salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.

- Demonstrated experience in managing facilities, including identifying maintenance, repair, and replacement needs
- Exceptional interpersonal collaboration with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and contractors
- Demonstrated skills organizing, synthesizing, and communicating complex facilities-related content to multiple stakeholder groups
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional project management experience focused on facilities projects
- Experience in a public institution of higher education or a state government agency
- Experience with Wisconsin state capital budget planning
- Understanding of media production and broadcasting
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer, Architect, Landscape Architect, or related profession OR maintains certifications, such as Project Management Institute (PMI) PCP certification or similar project management credentials; APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP); IFMA Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (SFP), or similar facilities management training and/or credentialing
Key
Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as the unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing organizational information to ensure timely and safe transitioning of major construction or remodeling projects
- Collaborates with Division Executives and partners to prepare capital budget requests and project implementation approaches that align with strategic priorities, and address maintenance and renewal of facilities and equipment that conform with compliance standards and ensure high-functioning media production and broadcast.
- Schedules logistics and secures resources to resolve facility issues, recommending alternatives where necessary
- Manages and directs operational functions and planning of one or multiple facilities or projects to foster innovative solutions
