Job Summary

This Custodian position is a team member of the Wisconsin Union
-Facilities Custodian project team. Duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal, snow removal, carpet cleaning, floor refinishing, pressure washing, event set up/tear down. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.

Base hours will be Sunday through Thursday 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. but may be flexed as needed for projects or to assist other shifts.

Position will be based out of Union South but will work in all Union locations to include, but not limited to:
Union South, Memorial Union, Pyle Center, Student Activity Center, U Club and the Fluno building.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
  • Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities.
  • Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed.
  • Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
  • Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
Compensation

$17.00 per hour.

+$2.50 per hour differential for hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

+$0.80 per hour differential for hours worked on Saturday and Sunday.

Required Qualifications

Experience working in a similar position for 3 months or more.

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma.
