Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full‑time GENERAL LABOR/MAINTENANCE positions at Canteen, 2305 Daniels Street, Madison, WI 53718. Online applications accepted only. Full‑time schedule Monday through Friday with start at 7:00 AM. Must have a valid driver’s license; previous maintenance experience preferred. Pay $18.00–$20.00 per hour. Sign‑on bonus $1,000 and a $100 safety shoes allowance. Free coffee and reduced‑cost snacks/beverages. Internal employee referral bonus available.

• Provides quality customer service with one‑on‑one attention to detail.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Performs minor repairs to doors, fixtures and furniture.
• Records information from meters and gauges at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.
• Makes adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Regularly replaces HVAC air filters.
• Monitors building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to avoid hazards.
• Moves heavy furniture, equipment and supplies manually or with hand trucks.
• Mows and trims lawns and shrubbery; clears debris.
• Notifies managers of major repair or system addition needs.
• Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas.
• Sets up, arranges and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders and scaffolding for events.
• Ad‑hoc cleaning of building floors (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming), gathers and empties trash, services and cleans restrooms.
• Drives required vehicles for work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Valid non‑CDL Class C driver’s license required.
