Position: Senior Manager, Architecture (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced technical leader as a Solution Architecture Manager to lead a team of solution architects supporting the delivery of critical architectures supporting strategic business objectives. This role is pivotal in driving consistency, reinforcing our architectural vision, and ensuring the technical excellence of our enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for end-to-end systems thinking, capable of coaching their team to produce high-quality, detailed architectural designs.

You will be a key partner to business, product, and other technology leaders, ensuring our technology solutions are scalable, secure, and tightly aligned with our business objectives while ensuring end-to-end quality. This role will be a part of the Enterprise Architecture department with a focus on delivering architecture which includes solutions enabling Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Master Data Management (MDM) and the integration of back-office systems.

In this hybrid, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from our Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110 office.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Mentorship

Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of solution architects, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Understand, contribute to, and reinforce the company's architectural vision with the team, ensuring their work aligns with strategic goals. Drive consistency in architectural processes, standards, and documentation across the team. Guide your team to the appropriate level of technical detail, ensuring thoroughness and clarity in all architectural artifacts.

Coach team members on to reinforce end-to-end systems thinking.

Technical Strategy & Governance

Define and drive the architectural vision and strategy for our core enterprise systems, particularly CRM, MDM and back-office integrations. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the enterprise technology landscape, identifying opportunities for simplification and modernization. Establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices to ensure quality and maintainability.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner closely with Product Managers to align architectural initiatives with product roadmaps and business requirements. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with project managers and development teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and influencing at all levels of the organization from technical IT staff to business executives.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating complex or contentious issues, reaching consensus, and working through people to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated experience performing analysis related to technology strategy at an organizational level.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of enterprise architecture methods, artifacts, and tools.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of software engineering practices, system/software designs, and system deployments.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of business strategy development, business architecture, and business models as they relate to technology strategy development.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of enterprise architecture styles, including Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web and mobile architectures, client/server architecture, business intelligence architectures, messaging and integration architectures, and legacy/mainframe architecture.
Additional Specialized Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a solution architecture role, with a proven track record of designing complex enterprise systems.
