Sr. Web Designer

📍Location: Madison, WI (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
📅 Contract Duration: 1 year

Our client is seeking a Senior Web Designer to lead and participate in the design, development, layout, and coding of a newly developed website. This role will shape the overall web experience for internal and external stakeholders while contributing to broader digital media strategic initiatives.

The selected candidate will serve as a subject-matter expert in website design and layout, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver a modern, accessible, and user-focused web presence.

• Contribute to website strategy and provide recommendations to leadership

• Design and develop overall site navigation, page layouts, and graphic elements

• Ensure all design solutions function effectively across multiple browsers, devices, and screen settings

• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.2 guidelines

• Implement graphical and style standards across websites

• Develop and execute strategic digital media initiatives in collaboration with leadership and functional teams

• Evaluate and implement open-source and commercial products to meet project requirements

• Serve as subject matter expert and primary point of contact for website and application design, maintenance, and support

• Work with multiple stakeholders to deliver strategic website initiatives within defined timelines

• Designing and developing complex, accessible, and user-focused web properties using Word Press

• Implementing web solutions aligned with brand standards and WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidelines

• Collaborating with multiple stakeholders to deliver strategic website projects on schedule

• Applying graphic design principles to create engaging, visually compelling websites

• Experience in healthcare, higher education, or scientific research environments

• Experience developing and/or deploying database-driven online applications that allow content owners to manage their own web content
