NOTE: Candidates must be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI within 30 days of the start date at their own expense. (90% remote and 10% onsite). Primarily remote, but candidate must be available to come onsite if needed. On call hours may be required. Weekend coverage required for maintenance and support. We can accept H1b, H4, TN and other valid work visas for IT.

Our Client is looking for a Systems Architect that will provide innovative solutions within a diverse Enterprise environment with multiple cloud services and on-premises infrastructure components. The candidate will have expert level troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze current technologies used within our organization and determine ways to improve performance and provide stability to backend services. The candidate should collaborate with IT professionals to ensure proper infrastructure components are designed, delivered, managed, and available, following best practices and IT policies.

The individual will work closely with IT professionals, the supervisor, and project teams to monitor initiatives, provide detailed specifications, define clear goals, and manage proper execution. They will anticipate challenges and handle risks, time, resources, and scope changes. The candidate will direct a small team, improve operational support, and document processes as needed, while maintaining hands‑on technical involvement and communicating progress without repeated follow‑up.

• Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the administration, maintenance and support of numerous backend systems that support the agency's application development, design, security, integration and desktop infrastructure.
• Direct and manage the workload of team members and the on‑call support functions for the operations team.
• Gather information from team members constructively, fostering collaboration and trust.
• Communicate progress without requiring repeated follow‑up and maintain hands‑on technical involvement.
• Technical lead for the backend infrastructure services:
  Microsoft Services, Active Directory (AD) services, ADFS, Group Policy, Distributed File Services, Azure subscriptions, DHCP, and networking protocols.
• Responsible for third‑level technical support functions for the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), monitoring tools, multi‑factor authentication, storage and backup, Power Shell scripting, and customized applications.
• Lead modernization initiatives, partnering with external agency DOA and third‑party vendors, while managing team, project, and technical execution.

• 7+ years experience analyzing new and current technologies and recommending solutions.
• Experience leading a project team as a technical expert in system implementation.
• 10+ years expert level system administration skills for Microsoft Windows servers including all current supported OS versions.
• 5+ years high‑level knowledge of Omnissa Horizon and vSphere.
• 10 years experience with Active Directory Group Policy implementation and troubleshooting.
• 7 years experience supporting certificate services.
• 7 years implementing technology best practices.
• 7 years MS Visio: documenting infrastructure components.
• 7 years configuring LDAP.
• 7 years expertise in multi‑factor authentication services.
• 3 years MS Office 365 support.
• 3 years system administrator for MS Azure subscriptions and services.
