About

The Role

Fetch is investing in the future of digital receipts. Today, we process tens of millions of receipts monthly through email scanning, mobile integrations, and retail partnerships, and we see a larger opportunity ahead. We are opening this role to explore a new vertical within our eReceipts platform. The focus is R&D at the intersection of open banking, Point-of-Sale systems, and consumer-permissioned financial data, finding new ways to access item-level transaction data that powers our rewards ecosystem.

This is greenfield work: researching what’s possible, prototyping approaches, and building the foundation for what comes next. This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.

What You’ll Do At Fetch (Role Responsibilities)
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for digital receipt ingestion and processing
  • Research and develop integrations with open banking platforms, POS systems, and merchant data providers to access item-level transaction data
  • Build and manage integrations with retail partners, merchant platforms, and financial data providers
  • Architect systems for high availability, reliability, and observability across multiple partner data sources
  • Design data pipelines that normalize heterogeneous transaction and receipt data, including SKU-level detail, into a canonical schema
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of partner integrations, from onboarding and authentication to data validation and monitoring
  • Collaborate with mobile, product, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues with a focus on root cause
  • Proactively improve service quality, scalability, and data accuracy
  • Use AI-assisted tools such as Git Hub Copilot or Claude Code to enhance code quality, automate documentation, and improve development velocity
  • Mentor peers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
In Your Toolbox (Minimum Requirements)
  • Domain experience in one or more of: fintech, open banking, digital receipts, card-linked offers, Point-of-Sale systems, transaction enrichment platforms
  • Experience building or consuming third-party APIs and partner integrations, including rate limiting, retry strategies, data contract negotiation, and multi-partner onboarding
  • Experience working with transaction or receipt data, including ingestion, normalization, or enrichment of purchase, order, or payment data from multiple sources
  • Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0 and secure credential management in a B2B or consumer-permissioned data context
  • Commitment to code quality through automated testing and observability
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for coding, documentation, testing, and code review
Nice to haves/Bonus Points (Preferred Requirements)
