FPGA Software Engineer - $140,000 | Madison, WI

I’m working exclusively with a leading US manufacturer of professional audio equipment, trusted worldwide across film, TV, live events, and broadcast. I am looking for an FPGA Software Engineer to design and develop FPGA logic in VHDL and embedded software in C/C++ for advanced audio and wireless products. You’ll be solving complex FPGA challenges including timing constraints, clock domain crossings, and software-defined radio (SDR) implementations.

• Design and develop FPGA logic in VHDL for production hardware
• Develop embedded software in C/C++ for Linux or RTOS environments
• Work on timing constraints, resolve timing issues, and manage clock domain crossings
• Work with device drivers and hardware-level protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
• Contribute to software-defined radio (SDR) implementations

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience developing FPGA logic in VHDL for production hardware
• Familiarity with device drivers and hardware-level protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
• Strong background in timing constraints, resolving timing issues, and clock domain crossings
• Experience with Xilinx tool chains
• Embedded C/C++ development for Linux or RTOS environments

Desirable Requirements

• Experience with software-defined radio (SDR)
• Knowledge of RF systems or professional audio is a plus
• Ability to adapt and reuse existing code to meet project needs
