Overview

The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club is the largest convention hotel in Madison, Wisconsin with 373 guest rooms and 27,000 square feet of flexible meeting space including 28 meeting rooms and 6 hospitality suites. We re an independent hotel and we believe in offering genuine and caring service to every guest. Our mission is to provide our guests with a memorable experience each and every time they visit us.

The position requires flexibility in scheduling including a combination of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

The starting wage for this position is $65,000-$75,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, support, and coach the banquet team by providing consistent on-the-floor leadership and guidance
  • Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and termination
  • Manage and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive guest experience
  • Coordinate the proper and timely set-up of all functions in accordance with food, beverage, and meeting specifications
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels, room and station assignments, buffet décor, and enhancements as they relate to banquet and meeting room set-up
  • Manage inventory of banquet-related items, including linen, liquor, silverware, china, and other operational supplies
  • Inspect and oversee the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of all function spaces, public areas, and banquet service areas
  • Communicate and collaborate with multiple departments, including housekeeping, catering, and culinary teams, to ensure the highest level of product delivery
  • Set and uphold expectations for professional, friendly, and engaging service at all times
  • Perform other functions as required and directed
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in banquet operations or event management within a hotel or upscale catering environment strongly preferred
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire a diverse team
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on flawless execution and exceptional guest experiences
  • Proficiency in event management software preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event requirements
  • A genuine passion for the hospitality industry, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and creating memorable moments
