ResponsibilitiesThe RN MDS Coordinator responsibilities include overseeing the resident assessment process, which involves assessing residents' clinical, psychological, and physical needs to develop and update individualized care plans. Key duties include ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS), and managing the documentation necessary for accurate Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
Requirements- Must possess as a minimum an RN degree from an accredited university or college
- Two years of long-term care experience required
- Must possess an intimate knowledge of the MDS process
- Must have one year of experience as an MDS assessment nurse
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, resident family members, visitors, and the public
