LTE Genetics Counselor - Prenatal Diagnosis; FTE; Day Shift

Shift: Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Duration: 6 months

This is an experienced independent board-certified genetic counselor role, with primary responsibilities involving the full range of new and established prenatal detection and/or medical genetic cases. This position also focuses on finding the current research regarding genetics for not only prenatal diagnosis but also other medical conditions.

Provides genetic education, counseling, and psychological support to families who have a member with birth defects or genetic disorders or who may be at risk for a variety of inherited conditions. Identifies families at risk, interprets information about the disorder, analyzes inheritance patterns, and reviews available options with family. May coordinate and support research activities within area of expertise.

• Graduate of master’s program in Genetics

• 3-6 months

• Able to sit to become Certified Diplomat of American Board of Medical Genetics in Genetic Counseling

• Knowledge of human genetic disorders and birth defects
