Are you passionate about helping individuals with mental illness access the benefits and resources they need to live with dignity and independence? Employment Resources, Inc. (ERI), seeks a dedicated and compassionate Community Benefits Specialist (CBS) to support adults in Dane County as they navigate complex public benefit systems and access essential services.

As our new Community Benefits Specialist, you will:
- Assist individuals with completing applications, reports, and required forms for public benefits
- Ensure deadlines are met and appointments are kept
- Communicate with the Social Security Administration, healthcare providers, and other public agencies on behalf of participants
- Explore additional sources of information and identify resources to support each individual's needs
- Problem-solve issues that may arise during the benefits process
- Maintain thorough documentation and accurate records
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with participants, team members, and referring partners
- Work independently while managing multiple priorities
- A Bachelor s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- Experience working with public benefit programs and/or vulnerable populations strongly preferred
- Highly organized with excellent record-keeping skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with professional partners
- Knowledge of and ability to access community resources
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while remaining flexible
- Valid Wisconsin driver s license and proof of personal auto liability insurance meeting Wisconsin's minimum requirement
- Ability to pass and maintain clearance related to criminal, caregiver, and sex offender background check requirements
- CRC, LPC, SCSW, or CCS certification is preferred but not required.
- ERI will provide all necessary CCS training for those pursuing certification.
