Position duties may include
  • Patient rooming
  • In office procedure assistance
  • Injection and vaccine administration
  • General clinical administrative tasks in the electronic medical record program (Epic)
Responsibilities
  • Receives patient care assignment from the registered nurse (RN) in charge and initiates delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence for the patient age group served.
  • Collects and documents data for reassessment at specified times for the patient population.
  • Documents and provides data to the Physician, RN and/or LPN for analysis and validation of patient’s response to care or treatment; notes significant changes in patient condition.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of lead placement for routine cardiac monitoring and 12-lead EKG; performs 12-lead EKG per policy and procedures.
  • May assist physician and nursing staff with medical procedures.
  • Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment in keeping with patient care needs and cost containment.
  • Turns over rooms after each patient use; cleans, restocks, disposes of trash, ensures equipment is returned to its place, and handles instrument trays per procedure.
  • Assists with delegated clerical duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages, transcription of physician orders, and organizing the patient’s medical record.
  • Prepares patients for discharge or completion of visit and accompanies them upon dismissal as indicated. Transports patients as needed.
  • Maintains safety and alertness in all duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication; constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects 0-25 lbs; frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Vision/hearing requirements to perceive colors, odors, alarms, and other cues; occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of patients; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting; occasional driving; rare crawling and running.
