. This apprenticeship transforms the pharmacy technician role from a transaction‑based environment to a patient‑centric one, where you will interact with customers, develop strong patient relationships, and receive training toward PTCB certification.

$17.00/hr – $20.50/hr

Walgreens is proud to offer an “earn while you learn” Pharmacy Technician Training Program recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor. The program provides foundational and advanced knowledge, skills, and on‑the‑job experiences needed to become a certified pharmacy technician.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and processing prescriptions.
• Model and deliver a distinctive, delightful customer experience; greet and assist customers, resolve issues, and share best practices.
• Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager and store management: enter patient and drug information, fill prescriptions, verify medication accuracy, manage inventory, maintain cash registers, and handle telephone and third‑party claims.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, Good Faith Dispensing, and the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Assist in clinical services such as collection and labeling of blood/urine samples and coordination of Walgreens health clinics.
• Help maintain an organized, clean, and fully stocked pharmacy department.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.
• Attend manager‑requested training and acquire continuing education credits.

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification (preferred).
