FTE;
Night Shift. This role is part of the obstetrics team providing expertise in handling surgical instruments and equipment during routine and emergency operative cases.

• Assemble and prepare equipment, instruments, and supplies for obstetrical operative deliveries, using surgeon preference cards as a reference.
• Set up and maintain the intra-operative sterile field; anticipate and respond to the surgeon’s intra-operative needs.
• Support the surgeon during complicated or anticipated high-risk vaginal births (e.g., mid-forceps, breech deliveries, double set-ups) and other births requiring scrub and technical expertise. The technician may function as a second assist.
• Maintain current knowledge and practice of family-centered care and hospital policies and procedures.

• FTE: 0.6
• Shift: Night shift with weekend and holiday rotation
• Hours Per Week: 24
• Weekends: Some
• Benefit Eligible

• Graduate of an approved one-year surgical technologist program
• Knowledgeable in aseptic technique, scrub skills, anatomy, obstetric surgical procedures
• 6 months previous experience preferred
