As an entry-level equal opportunity (eo) investigator you will function as an investigator and also conduct important outreach on behalf of the agency. This work involves providing outreach and educational services as assigned, investigating formal charges of discrimination, and preparing initial determinations on cases.
This work is performed under the supervision of the equal opportunities manager.
the successful candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate with individuals, non-profits and businesses. This is professional work in the development, understanding, analysis and support of complex equal opportunities issues. The work involves investigating formal charges of discrimination; preparing case determinations; providing outreach and educational services; and, representing the division before other governmental bodies, businesses, non-profits, and the general public.
this series is structured to provide for career progression from eo investigator 1 to 2, and 2 to 3 based on increased employee expertise and responsibility, independence of action, complexity of projects, and experience with and knowledge of city, state, and federal equal employment opportunities laws, rules and regulations.
