We are looking for an experienced Lead Bookkeeper to manage multi-entity bookkeeping operations for our expanding housing group. As the Lead Bookkeeper, you will take charge of daily financial functions, enhance systems like Xero and Approval Max, and work closely with our leadership team to maintain precise financial data and reporting. If you are a Xero-certified professional with extensive expertise in intercompany finance, automation tools, and UK compliance, this role offers a chance to contribute meaningfully to a supportive remote team.
Responsibilities- Oversee weekly bookkeeping processes across multiple entities.
- Manage client invoicing, credit control, and supplier payments.
- Ensure accurate bank reconciliations and maintain up-to-date cash flow data.
- Keep precise intercompany accounts and records of deferred income.
- Track rental income and associated costs, ensuring proper allocations across properties.
- Address finance-related inquiries via shared inboxes.
- Optimize workflows in Xero, Dext, Approval Max, and Telleroo.
- Manage user access, permissions, and system integrity.
- Drive automation and enhancements to streamline financial processes.
- Collaborate with operations and tech teams to integrate financial and property systems.
- Prepare weekly finance dashboards covering cash position, debtors, and payables.
- Lead preparations for monthly finance reviews with leadership.
- Support quarterly UK VAT submissions and ensure compliance.
- Maintain accurate records aligned with UK financial regulations.
- Xero Certified Advisor with current certification.
- At least 5 years of senior-level bookkeeping experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity finances.
- Solid understanding of intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
- Thorough knowledge of UK VAT requirements and submission timelines.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a systems-thinking approach.
- Access to a reliable laptop/PC and stable internet connection.
- Experience with workflow automation and financial integrations.
- Ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative team environment.
- Familiarity with visual reporting tools or dashboard creation.
