Piano Fondue is a premier provider of high-energy, live Dueling Pianos shows. We combine the addictive power of an all-request singalong party with uncompromising production value, and we are looking for talented Sound/Lighting Technicians to join our crew.
About the Role:As a Sound/Lighting Technician, you are the operational on-site lead. You and your partner will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our shows by acting as the initial face of the company, setting up our premium rigs, and actively running sound and lights throughout the performance. You will work closely with our entertainers and clients to deliver world-class, unforgettable experiences.
Responsibilities:- Technical Setup & Strike: Deploy, configure, and safely strike premium audio and lighting equipment. You and your tech partner deploy as a unit from our Madison HQ.
- Active Show Production: This is not a "set it and forget it" gig. You will actively mix audio and operate dynamic DMX lighting to match the energy of the live show.
- Client Leadership: Act as the primary on-site point of contact. You will interact with clients upon arrival and throughout the event to manage the timeline and address any logistical needs.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely.
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills in high-pressure live environments.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, primarily weekends and evenings.
- Valid driver's license and a commitment to safe, sober driving/operation of gear.
- Experience with small audio systems and/or DMX lighting systems (preferred, but not required - we will train the right attitude).
- Experience driving a pickup truck with a trailer (again - preferred, but not required).
- W-2 Employment: Unlike most gig-economy jobs, you are a W-2 employee (we pay the employer taxes, and you are covered by Worker's Comp).
- Competitive Pay: $350 per show (starting after a paid training period of approximately 3 shows at $200 per show).
- Flexible Scheduling: Work as much or as little as you'd like.
- Paid Training: We provide comprehensive training on our specific gear and production standards.
- Travel & Perks: Experience top-tier venues across Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. Hotel accommodations and a $20 meal stipend are provided for qualifying shows.
If you're passionate about live music, take pride in clean stage setups, and have a knack for technical problem-solving, we want to hear from you. Apply today!
