Our client, an industrial building fabricator, is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer to join their team. As a Mechanical CAD Designer, you will be part of the Design Engineering Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with a proven understanding of Solid Works CAD software, and the preparation of clear and accurate working plans and detailed drawings of mechanical systems within an industrial building such as enclosures for power supplies, pumps, HVAC and switch gear.
The role will not support candidates with H1B or sponsorship restrictions. The role is located in the Madison, WI area with strong preferences being given to candidates local to the Madison market. This is a direct hire status position.
Job Title: Mechanical CAD Designer
Location: Madison, WI
Pay: $30-$35/hr. plus OT, benefits
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from project specifications, sketches, or notes.
Build final drawing packets based on job specifications, ensuring consistency in design standards, dimensions, scaling, and CAD operations.
Make adjustments or changes as requested by the customer or Project Manager.
Use CAD software (Solid Works) and equipment to build technical drawings.
Maintain job logs and historical references to support project tracking and documentation.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in lieu of a degree.
Proven understanding of Solid Works or Creo is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak with groups of customers or employees of organization.
