HDR is looking for a Project Manager to serve as our Wisconsin Data Center Lead in the Madison, WI office. The ideal candidate has a proven background in delivering data center and mission critical projects, from upfront planning and pre-design through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning. This role focuses on project delivery, with additional emphasis on developing and securing work from a global client base and expanding HDR’s reputation in these markets.

The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary design teams from concept to completion and collaborate with regional and global leaders. Some travel to client sites or HDR offices is required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on development strategies, new business prospects, technical services, quality, and production methods to achieve goals for the business group, region, and company.
  • Manage and lead project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Travel 10-20% to project sites, including international travel if needed.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate international project support.
  • Control project budget, scope, and schedule.
  • Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Forecasting, invoicing, and contract management.
  • Promote HDR through regular client interface.
  • Support mission-critical staff recruiting in collaboration with the Business Group Manager.
  • Create vital proposal content including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Lead HDR at interview presentations.
  • Collaborate with local office principal, other business group leads, technical directors, and marketing managers.
  • Perform other technical or managerial tasks as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA).
  • PMP Certification.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience required (Access experience is a plus).
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM
    360 Docs, BIM
    360 Field, and Bluebeam.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Relationships and experience with mission-critical and/or data center facilities clients and their needs.
  • Advanced leadership and mentoring ability.
  • Advanced client relationship-building skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 7 years of related experience.
  • At least 2 years of project management experience.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture.
