Opportunity Overview:
Fuel Handling Equipment Technician - 12 Month Contract. Work is in the nuclear plant in Shoreview, MN.

Provide support for nuclear fuel handling equipment or outage critical cranes. The field service support will be conducted at remote operating nuclear power plants and at local service center operations, utilizing high technology service equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Include title of position, base location, length of contract and a brief overview of the role.

• Install, set-up, maintain, inspect, calibrate, and troubleshoot fuel handling/outage critical crane equipment at customer sites worldwide.
• Review operational procedures, maintenance procedures, and drawings in detail.
• Provide support to engineering and training by performing activities such as equipment modifications, equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing, and equipment and process qualifications. Document equipment performance issues during field implementation and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use.
• Participate in training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and stay current with technology and procedures.
• Perform all assigned tasks with a high degree of quality, within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines; maintain and document all quality-related issues.
• Practice a “Safety First” attitude in all activities. Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas.
• Develop, exercise and promote team-building with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers and other departments. Demonstrate good customer sensitivity and a focus on solutions to problems encountered.
• Report to the service supervisor the status of field work progress, changes, problems, and mistakes on a daily basis or as needed. Extensive travel (60–70%) and working with hazardous materials may be involved.

• Post high school degree/certificate or equivalent in experience.
• 1 or more years of experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience working in a nuclear power plant with general knowledge of plant operations, maintenance, and inspections.
• Ability to travel 60%–70% of the workweek.
• Maintain unescorted access status at nuclear power plant sites.
