Electrical Engineer – Shive-Hattery Group

Shive-Hattery is expanding its Madison office and seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design industrial facility lighting and power systems. The role is embedded in a collaborative, mentorship‑focused culture that values cross‑disciplinary teamwork and long‑term client relationships.

Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical lighting and power distribution systems for industrial facilities.
- Collaborate with mechanical, automation, and civil disciplines to integrate control systems and building services.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and submittals for electrical scopes.
- Assist in budgeting, scheduling, and project administration to meet client objectives.
- Mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians and provide technical direction on design projects.
- Support client development activities and contribute to building strong, long‑term relationships.
- 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for industrial facilities.
- Professional Engineer license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain one.
- Solid technical experience preparing construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and construction administration.
- Collaborative approach working with other disciplines and establishing and maintaining budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of NEC Codes.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems (temperature/pressure transmitters, control valves, MOVs, PLCs, industrial automation).
- Proficient with SKM Power Tools software.
- Working knowledge of fire alarm and voice/data systems integration.
- Ability to provide direction to designers and CAD technicians.
- Knowledgeable with AutoCAD and Revit.
