Specialty Operations Field Service Representative
As a Field Service Representative – Specialty Operations with a PLC specialization, you will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex water and wastewater treatment systems using Programmable Logic Controllers. You’ll be on the front lines providing operational and maintenance expertise on industrial water treatment systems for a variety of industries. This mission‑critical role involves working on technologies such as media filtration, industrial water treatment and ultrafiltration (UF).
KeyCharacteristics
- PLC and controls expertise: read, interpret, troubleshoot, and modify PLC ladder logic, electrical schematics, and P&.
- Review customer plant installations against VWTS reference drawings (P&, electrical schematics, general arrangement).
- Monitor equipment performance and operation.
- Perform maintenance and calibration activities on various treatment plant instrumentation.
- Perform analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC and other site‑specific tests.
- Carry out mechanical, electrical, process, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejector pumps, blowers, instrumentation, and automation hardware.
- Perform installation & maintenance activities on various water treatment technologies.
- Provide customers with informal training around operation and maintenance of their system.
- Provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed during service visits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High School Diploma / GED / Home School certification or international equivalent.
- 2+ years of service/maintenance experience or equivalent in an industrial environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in instrumentation.
- Strong background in electrical and controls troubleshooting, with experience in reading and interpreting P& electrical schematics.
- Experience with PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting, and modification.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet all customer site requirements.
