This position will be responsible for the supervision of Quality Assurance Technicians. Growth and development are important aspects of this role; whether you aspire to be a leader or a technical expert, this position will set you up for future success.
Primary Responsibilities- Work within both the new product development and present product teams.
- Problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action using statistical tools as appropriate.
- Development, maintenance, and review of key performance indicators.
- Research, recommend, and implement new equipment, designs, gauging, and processes that improve product quality, consistency, and performance.
- Lead PFMEA activities, facilitate creation, organization, and follow‑ups of new or existing production process PFMEAs.
- Review and update the quality system requirements for new or revised products, including review and measurement of key control characteristics (KCC) identification and documentation.
- Work closely with industrial and manufacturing engineering to develop, qualify, and audit new and key processes with data collection.
- Support trial builds of product throughout the system, gathering feedback for evaluation.
- Assist Business Unit Leader in defining annual quality goals and objectives.
- Build a culture that identifies and solves problems related to quality, involving employees at all levels to own it and improve it.
- Promote a collaborative environment where cross‑functional teams align around shared goals and celebrate collective wins.
- Report to all levels of the organization up through the executive level.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or quality engineering functions.
- Experience leading a team and coaching and developing direct reports.
- Strong understanding of and experience applying advanced statistical methodologies in a manufacturing environment (e.g., ANOVA, regression analysis, Six Sigma concepts).
- Proficient in GD&T, measurement practices, and APQP tools such as PPAP, dFMEA, pFMEA, MSA, SPC, capability studies, and control plans.
- Solid analytical problem‑solver with knowledge of tools (5‑Why, 8‑D, A3, etc.).
- Experienced in Microsoft Office (including SharePoint) and data analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.).
- Able to work collaboratively to resolve issues and continually improve results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change with proven interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Communicates, plans, and updates effectively with all levels of management and peers.
- Growth mindset and willingness to quickly learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) – Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ASQ – Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or other certification strongly desired.
- Knowledge of Solid Works and gauge/fixture design.
- Lean manufacturing experience.
- Understanding of ISO / IATF / AS QMS standards and experience internal auditing to the standards.
- Proven track record of project management and effectively managing priorities.
