Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Trimpe Middle School as a Full-Time Title I Paraprofessional. This role is designed to assist students in their academic and social development. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that fosters student success.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers in the implementation of instructional plans and educational activities for students, particularly those who require additional support.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students, focusing on academic skills and social-emotional development.
- Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and engagement, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Facilitate a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Help prepare instructional materials and resources, ensuring that they are accessible and appropriate for all students.
- Support students during transitions between classes, lunch, and other school activities, promoting positive social interactions.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to working with diverse learners.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to develop strategies for supporting students' individual needs.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration.
- Valid Paraprofessional Educator License issued and registered in Madison County, or willingness to obtain.
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher is preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly with students from diverse backgrounds or with special needs.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques that support student learning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed academically and socially.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
- Must pass background checks and comply with all school district policies and procedures.
One of the following required:
- Associate’s degree or higher
- 60 semester hours of coursework
- High School Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro
- High School Diploma or GED and the following scores on the ACT Workkeys:
Applied Mathematics/Applied Math (with a score of
4);
Reading for information/Workplace Documents (with a score of
4)
