** Due to program expansion, the School of Human and Protective Services at is hiring three full-time
** Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
** instructors to teach across the EMS disciplines (which includes EMT, AEMT, Paramedic). Madison College is a comprehensive, open-access institution providing a high-quality education to a diverse population, including first-generation college students. The ideal candidate brings strong paramedic field experience, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to make effective decisions in dynamic and high-pressure environments. Candidates who have served as mentors, preceptors, or field training officers and who are passionate about preparing the next generation of EMS professionals are encouraged to apply.
Teaching experience is welcome but not required. Madison College supports industry professionals in developing the instructional skills needed to succeed in the classroom and clinical environment.

Full-time faculty work a nine-month contract for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), and teaching summer courses, if available, is optional, with additional pay. This position is responsible for teaching Paramedic/EMT/AEMT classes at the college level. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction using established curriculum and course materials, adapting and enhancing instructional strategies to support student learning, utilizing effective teaching technologies and learning environments, assessing student progress, advising students, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of curriculum and instruction. Faculty also participate in college service activities at the department, school, and college levels.
This position reports to the Dean of the School of Human and Protective Services
A faculty member in this position may teach the following courses: EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, Cardiology, Pharmacology. Other teaching opportunities may be assigned depending on departmental needs. Most courses are offered in person (day and evening), with some hybrid offerings.
** Essential Duties:**-Facilitate student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to fit students’ needs and support student engagement. Revise curriculum to improve student learning.
-Evaluate student performance and provide regular feedback in courses taught by the instructor.
-Contribute to student success and retention by advising students with course selection, career concerns, internships, and other matters.
-Serve as an advocate for students and engage in activities that help students achieve their goals such as writing letters of recommendation, and/or helping students link with internships, service learning, job shadowing and other forms of networking.
-Provide support to the program, the school, and the college by attending and engaging in events and meetings and participating fully within the team environment.
-Continually improve teaching through professional development activities and the integration of new techniques and technology. This includes the development and implementation of an individualized professional development plan.
-Maintains a commitment to the college mission, vision and values.
