The East Madison YMCA is looking for a professional, detailed oriented Preschool Lead Teacher that will create a fun and interactive environment in their classroom. The best qualified candidate will foster achievement, encourage belonging, act as a positive role model for children and staff, while developing and implementing age-appropriate activities.

• Create fun and interactive learning experiences while serving as mentors to fellow teachers.
• Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and company standards.
• Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for the child.
• Maintain proper records/department files.
• Train, provide guidance to and direct preschool assistant teachers and volunteers as needed.
• Manage emergencies, unusual circumstances and behavior.

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Lead Teacher classification recognized by Wisconsin State Licensing requirements.
• Knowledge of general child growth and development, learning, and developmentally appropriate activities for children required.
• Requires ability to effectively interact with, lead, and motivate members who have a variety of abilities and needs.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans
