Qualifications You'll Need
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, Family Studies, or related field - Specialized Knowledge:
Head Start Performance Standards, Early Childhood curricula, reflective and infant mental health practices - Experience:
Working with underserved children and families (ages 0-5) - Required Skills:
- Anti-Bias Education and Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices
- Trauma-informed strategies and understanding of trauma effects on children and adults
- Infant Mental Health philosophies, practices, and principles
- Reflective supervision practices (giving and receiving)
- Evidence-based social emotional development strategies
- Certifications:
CLASS and CHILD reliability preferred (must obtain within 6 months if not certified) - Professional
Competencies:
Strong collaborative abilities, excellent interpersonal communication, and demonstrated capacity for independent work
What You'll Do
As an Integrated Support Specialist, you'll serve as the primary support services staff for our pilot sites by:
- Utilizing a blended approach informed by education, mental health, and family services principles
- Supporting EHS and HS classrooms in implementing trauma-informed and evidence-based social emotional approaches
- Using reflective practices, coaching, and innovative technology like Swivl
- Ensuring complete implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and child development standards
- Providing coaching and support to educators to grow their classroom capacities
- Implementing Head Start Performance Standards across all programming
- Supporting anti-bias education and culturally responsive teaching practices
- Collaborating effectively with diverse teams and community partners
- Embodying agency core values in all areas of practice
