Job Profile:

Scientist I

Job Summary:

Founded in 2023, the Multilingual Learning Research Center (MLRC) studies teaching practices and systems that support multilingual learners (MLs), contributing to knowledge about effective teaching and learning and a deeper understanding of the systemic factors that influence MLs’ educational experiences and outcomes. The Center leverages local, national, and global contexts to interrogate a range of issues related to the education of MLs.

In addition to its domestic research priorities, the Center is home to the MLRC International School Network, a research-practice partnership with English-speaking and bilingual schools around the world that collaborate on research for educational improvement and equity for multilingual learners everywhere.

The MLRC seeks a mixed methods researcher to join its growing team. We are looking for someone who brings an existing research agenda focused on learning and teaching for multilingual learners; expertise in literacy and biliteracy is a plus. The ideal candidate will have experience with research practice partnerships as well as mixed methods, be flexible and adaptable to changing funding contexts, and thrive on being part of a team and contributing to a collaborative environment oriented around social justice.
