Wis Dems is nationally recognized as one of the country’s highest-performing and most pivotal political organizations. Wis Dems’ work is grounded in inclusion, respect, and empowerment across race, gender, other dimensions of identity, and the rural/suburban/urban divide.

Our work continues year-round, collaborating with partners to build a movement that delivers meaningful change for all Wisconsinites. We seek outstanding applicants who share our values and vision to join the team, help win elections, and build a future where everyone can thrive.

The Opportunity:

As a Youth Organizing Director, you are the strategic leader of our grassroots movement on campuses and in youth communities across Wisconsin. You are responsible for building the student action teams, the campus infrastructure, and the institutional relationships that will elect Democrats up and down the ballot. This is a manager-level role for a seasoned organizer and coach who knows that the youth vote isn't just a metric—it is a habit built through peer-to-peer connection and durable, local power.

You will translate the statewide youth organizing plan into on-campus reality, leading your team of Organizers and volunteers to build a strong, inclusive, and powerful progressive presence in schools and universities statewide.

  • You are a Mobilizer. You know that collecting a pledge to vote is good, but getting a student to commit to taking action (door knocking, high traffic canvassing, friend to friend outreach) on their campus is better. You know how to move young people up the "Ladder of Engagement" and create a culture of activism and engagement.
  • You understand the "Campus Ecosystem." You know that organizing a Tech College requires a different playbook than UW-Madison. You understand how to navigate dorm access, student unions, and campus culture to drive voter contact.
  • You are a "Coach" at heart. You can manage a Paid Field Organizer to hit their numbers while simultaneously mentoring a 19-year-old volunteer who is learning to organize for the first time.
  • You are resilient. You know that students get busy during finals and "flake rates" can be high. You don't get discouraged; you build systems that account for it.
You align with our core principles:
  • Accountability & Solution-Oriented: You take full ownership of your actions and commitments, holding yourself to a high standard and seeing objectives through to completion. When challenges arise, you approach them with a problem-solving mindset, focusing on solutions rather than pointing fingers.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: You succeed by working as a team, stepping up to support teammates, and sharing knowledge freely. You actively break down silos by connecting across teams, inviting different perspectives, and staying open to new ideas to achieve shared goals.
  • Growth & Adaptability: You are dedicated to continuous improvement and challenge yourself to learn and adapt. You proactively seek, offer, and act on feedback with openness and can anticipate potential obstacles to take proactive steps.
  • Respect & Inclusion: You build strong relationships by treating everyone with kindness, dignity, and trust. You approach interactions assuming positive intent and have the courage to address difficult topics directly and honestly while showing care for others.
  • Transparent Communication: You communicate openly and honestly to build trust and alignment. You are proactive in setting clear expectations, sharing the "why" behind decisions, and providing timely updates to ensure the right people have the information they need.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Program Strategy: Work with Organizing Leadership to design and execute the statewide Youth Vote plan, setting ambitious goals for Volunteer Recruitment, Direct Voter Contact (Doors/Phones), and Relational Organizing on campuses.
  • Staff Management: Directly…
