Overview

How will your days be spent
  • Prepare presentation materials (conceptual drawings, 3D renderings + visualization, digital 3D + physical models)
  • Develop and modify design + technical solutions throughout all phases of a project
  • Contribute to design discussions, idea generation, and design work in drawing, model, and 3D image formats
  • Work closely with team members to complete projects on aggressive schedules by meeting deadlines within expected time and budget constraints
  • Generate revisions and corrections from outline mock-ups, redlined drawings, and project documents
  • Attend client meetings to observe process and develop presentation skills
  • Participate in construction site visits to understand the process
  • Recognize conflicts that arise during construction and offer alternatives to resolve these issues
What you bring to this role Experience
  • Previous internship experience preferred
  • Relevant architectural experience in one of Flad’s market segments preferred
  • Portfolio that demonstrates a high level of skill in design thinking and presentation media required
Software
  • Proficiency in Rhino or Sketch Up + 3D rendering software required
  • Beginner Revit knowledge required; have at least one year recent Revit experience in an academic or professional setting. Understands how Revit works but may not a project from start to finish. Has made edits to existing drawings, models, etc. Intermediate Revit knowledge preferred
  • Experience with real-time rendering engines (Enscape, Twin Motion) to generate still animations and renderings, Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), visual scripting programs (Grasshopper + Dynamo), Adobe Creative Suite, and AutoCAD preferred
Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture required. NAAB accredited professional degree or Master’s degree in architecture preferred
  • Sustainability accreditation preferred
