Project Architect

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our integrated team of design professionals. In this role, you will lead projects from concept through completion, ensuring high-quality design outcomes that meet client goals, regulatory standards, and project deadlines. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and interior designers on a variety of complex and rewarding projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate project design from early concept through construction completion.
• Manage and mentor junior architectural staff, providing technical guidance and quality oversight.
• Collaborate with engineers and consultants to ensure fully integrated design solutions.
• Prepare and oversee all phases of project documentation: pre-design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in client meetings, present design solutions, and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
• Oversee quality control of drawings and specifications.
• Conduct site visits during construction to review progress and resolve design-related issues.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture or related field.
• Active professional registration (AIA, NCARB).
• 8+ years of experience in the architectural industry, including at least 4 years as a Project Architect leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with science & technology, corporate office, or higher education projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards.
• Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam required; experience with Enscape and AutoCAD preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

• Hybrid work schedule: 2-3 days in office per week.
• Candidate must live within commuting distance of Madison, WI or Waukesha, WI.
