The Landscape Architect is responsible for drawing up plans using CAD software, site surveyance, being a client liaison, writing and analyzing reports, drawing up contracts, and working collaboratively with other planners and engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1.Assist with all aspects of project development including conceptual design, construction documents,construction details, and construction administration
  • 2.Assess physical and environmental features of a site; assess planned projects for opportunities and constraints, and review for code compliance
  • 3.Design, develop and modify drawings
  • 4.Integrate innovative sustainable design strategies and construction methods into project work
  • 5.Attend project team meetings
  • 6.Conduct research on various aspects of project development and prepare site review and analyze documents
  • 7.Carry out special projects and assignments that contribute to the operation of the firm, such as assistance with marketing materials and development of office documents
  • 8.Assure Vierbicher document standards are met and archive documents appropriately
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 1.Knowledge of landscape architecture principles and practices
  • 2.Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection
  • 3.Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 4.Ability to produce presentation-quality graphics and renderings
  • 5.Ability and interest to engage in all aspects of project development and design operations
  • 6.Ability to work well independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
  • 7.Ability to work closely with clients and other stakeholders
Education and Experience
  • 1.Bachelor’s Degree or above in landscape architecture is preferred
  • 2.2 or more years of experience is preferred
  • 3.Project Management experience is preferred
  • 4.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, Photoshop or InDesign, and other design tools
  • 5.Experience in preparing technical specifications
License or Certification Requirements
  • 1. PLA (Professional Landscape Architect) license in the State of Wisconsin is preferred
Physical Requirements
  • 1.This position requires sitting at a desk and working at a computer for long period of time
  • 2.Some work may include fieldwork
  • 3.This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
PPE Requirements
  • 1.Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary
